Pensées D'une Vampire Tropical
Part decolonial memoir and part fashion blog , Pensées d'une Vampire Tropical is an ongoing multifaceted project involving writing, photography, video and object making that seeks to engage the complex history of colonization. Beginning in 1562, in what is now present day Asunción Paraguay, the non-linear narrative is based on the experiences of a vampire named Elixabete (Bettina) Jasy Escarzaga de los Santos. Pensées d'une Vampire Tropical explores issues of Mestiza and Indigenous identity, gender, resistance to colonization through centuries, and ancestral memory.
